study herbalism in a setting that centers the teachings and traditions of
(indigenous, black people of color)
Seed, Root + Bloom weaves together ancestor folk medicine from native Black, North American, Central American, South American, Celtic and traditions from the diasporas. We welcome you to your first rites of passage: self-healer.
In year 1 of our gathering we connect to our holistic self and come with humility to ancestor connection. We meet ourselves and our living, past and other realm ancestors through meditations in each of our major energy centers, or chakras. In our sacred community, we journey in the cosmos of each chakra with the companionship of our plant allies, rituals, energy medicine, and yoga as medicine practices. Our circle partners with local and ancestral plants and community members to deepen our skills as urban medicine people.
If you have been searching for a way to (re)connect to your own personal lineage, to (re)member the wisdom of your ancestors and (re)claim a connection to yourself, then read on to discover if Seed, Root+Bloom is the Folk Herbal Educational program for you.

bellx & naomi
bellx of Semilla of Ixchel and Naomi of Tribe + Truth weave together to offer up their open black, native, and Mexican veins.
Naomi is a self-healing helper in the Usui Reiki and Wise Woman traditions and a guide on the path of Classically-informed Contemporary Yoga. She uses energy medicine and earth wisdom to enhance my weekly yoga classes, monthly workshops and private intuitive energy work sessions. She's been using yoga, meditation, tarot, crystals and plant medicine as tools for healing since she was very young. Each of these methods has helped her to become who she is now. These tools and techniques have re-connected her to her SELF and she is forever grateful to all her teachers and guides--including her mentors, students, friends and family (people, plant, mineral, animal and ancestral) for allowing her the space to learn, grow, heal and change.
bellx is born from the womb of Adriana, a mestizo cultura, and border experiences from Los Angeles, Califas to Boston, MA. moving wildly as we have always been, bellx flows with the gifts of ancestor + spirit, baring witness and acting from the messages that they are needing to share. she communes with plant beings, four-legged, finned, and people beings to support the healing of the tapestry of our oneness.
bellx offers support and companionship for individuals + families in life transitions, such as emotional or physical changes, first moon, menstrual cycle, birth, postpartum, abortion, loss, bereavement, miscarriage, and adoption. she weaves her mesoamerican cultura, the indigenous, african, + european knowings + healing ways in supporting others through herbal, massage, energy & rebozo support. she believes in your autonomy, medicine, and advocates for your reproductive + healing justice.
her practice is inspired by lineage, spirit + her many teachers, including her mamá, Rosalba Solis, Panquetzani, La Loba Loca, Sage Maurer, Lupo Passero, Luana Morales, Irischa Valentin,Chanel L. Porchia, Leah Penniman + growing.

support our herbal students
Meet our student: Ana Maria
When I was little I used to pray the dreams away. The ones that would come true a day or two after having them. I would know when women in my family were pregnant before they did, I could see and feel things no one around me seemed to have access to. I was scared and so I asked it to go away, and in many ways it has. I have spent the last few years reclaiming and reconnecting with what once came so natural it could only have been passed down. Just last year, during a heart to heart with my mother she admitted to me that my grandmother used to also have visions, dreams, that spirits would visit her- something she never told most people. Through this journey of reconnecting with my wisdom and my guides, I have found myself hungry and thirsty for all that I have lost, forced to hide away by religion and society. This space feels like an opportunity to honor them, to call them back, to say I am here and ready for you now.
